Community Gardens

Fresno Metro Ministry partners with land owners to provide growing spaces for community members in food insecure neighborhoods. Residents can grow produce for their families, connect with their neighbors, and get physical and mental health benefits.

YoVille Community Garden

The Yosemite Village Community Garden (Yo'Ville) is a 7.5 acre site developed in partnership with Fresno Housing. The garden is in Southwest Fresno behind the 69-unit Yosemite Village housing complex. The garden features in-ground plots of various sizes, outdoor events spaces, a communal food forest, berry bushes, native habitat, a green house and a composting program.

At this site, we host Volunteer Workdays every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am-11am to continue to develop and maintain the large community areas. Join us!

Lowell Community Garden

The Lowell Community Garden is a  acre site developed in partnership with the City of Fresno PARCS Department and Caltrans. The garden located on Belmont Street in the historic Lowell Community under the freeway 41 overpass. The garden features in-ground plots of various sizes, a communal fruit forest and native habitat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are garden plots available? How much do they cost?

    Garden Plots are rented out to individuals to grow food for themselves and their families. Garden plots are $40 a year per plot. 


    Most Gardens are in high depand and are waitlisted.


    To sign up for a plot or be added to the waitlist, call  559-485-1416 or email info@fresnometmin.org.

  • Is the garden open to the public?

    Gardeners that are signed up to the garden have access to the site from sunup to sundown.

  • I don’t know how to garden. Can I still sign up for a garden plot?

    Yes! We can help new gardeners get started once they are assigned to a garden plot

  • How can people volunteer or get involved?

    We have weekly volunteer work days at the YoVille Community Garden every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am-11am.
