FRESNO FOOD ACADEMY COMMUNITY DESIGN WORKSHOP

PURPOSE: 

A community-informed framework and strategy for developing the Fresno Food Academy. 

GENERAL AGENDA: 

  • Relevant food entrepreneurship case studies and key development questions will be presented. 
  • Inspirational stories from successful local food entrepreneurs will be shared. 
  • Technical presentations from experts on key food business development aspects will be shared.
  • Multiple Table Talk breakout sessions with appropriate language translation will be conducted to engage and capture the goals, ideas, needs, challenges, and suggestions from all participants.
  • Summary of community input throughout the afternoon to be confirmed by the workshop end by participants. 
  • Follow-up communications and meetings as the Fresno Food Academy Framework and Development Strategy take shape after the Workshop on 10- 20-23 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COMMUNITY DESIGN WORKSHOP:

  1. Aspiring community resident food entrepreneurs who have new business goals and want to learn and give input into the formation of a Fresno Food Academy.
  2. Existing mobile food vendors, food truck owners, caterers, and restaurant owners - who want to grow their businesses and give input into the formation of a Fresno Food Academy. 
  3. Successful food entrepreneurs who want to give back to the community and support a more robust local food entrepreneurship eco-system.
  4. Food career technical institutions, trainers, culinary kitchen operators, food business incubators, community colleges, and others willing to share knowledge and expertise.
  5. Small business development experts, lenders, accountants, and other professionals who are willing to share knowledge and expertise and support a more robust local food entrepreneurship eco-system.
  6. Anyone who can engage and positively support the concept of a Fresno Food Academy.

TALLER DE DISEÑO COMUNITARIO PARA ACADEMIA DE ALIMENTOS EN FRESNO.

PROPÓSITO:

Estrategia y marco comunitario para el desarrollo de una Academia de Alimentos en Fresno.

AGENDA GENERAL:

  • Se presentarán estudios de casos relevantes de emprendimiento alimentario y se abordarán preguntas clave para su desarrollo.
  • Se compartirán historias inspiradoras de empresarios alimentarios locales de éxito. 
  • Presentaciones técnicas de expertos sobre aspectos clave del desarrollo de empresas alimentarias.
  • Se celebrarán varias sesiones de debate con traducción a otros idiomas para identificar y captar los objetivos, ideas, necesidades, retos y sugerencias de todos los participantes. 
  • Resumen de las sugerencias de la comunidad a lo largo de la tarde, que los participantes confirmarán al final del taller. 
  • Comunicaciones y reuniones de seguimiento a medida que el marco y la estrategia de desarrollo de Fresno Food Academy vayan tomando forma tras el taller del 20-10-23.
